The Papal Residence

The heart of Palazzo Odescalchi is represented by the wonderful Papal Residence, a space of high importance of over 500 square meters whose original splendour has finally been restored thanks to a preservative restoration. The Residence displays unique period details of inestimable historical value, including frescoes by artists from all over the Christian world, sculptures, coffered ceilings with gold decorations and authentic monumental fireplaces. The Papal Residence is also of great importance from the historical point of view for the city of Como, especially for having hosted in its rooms Pope Innocent XI. In addition to an entrance of highest importance with an imperial staircase, representative of the Odescalchi family’s prestige, the Papal Residence is composed of a courtyard, which can host car parking in the historic centre of Como, and two building units connected to customised depending on the desired purpose.
